Death, whether it’s your own or the death of a loved one, is not an easy topic. However, it is certainly important to you what happens to your own body or the body of a loved one after death. Surely, you would like to be buried according to Islamic customs and traditions, which can become a truly costly matter for you or your loved ones without having a funeral fund in place.

What is the Funeral Fund?

Losing a loved one is perhaps one of the most challenging phases of our lives. When the deceased is away from their homeland, it becomes even more difficult and complicated, as customs and traditions in Austria may not always be the same. Organizing a burial that is in accordance with Islamic requirements as an individual, and at the same time dealing with the entire procedure, is much more demanding than one might imagine. Therefore, we have established a system that promises support to your loved ones throughout the entire funeral organization process.

What you should know

We are an association that advocates for a dignified funeral for our fellow believers through a burial fund. We are neither an insurance company nor a broker. Therefore, our burial fund is not aimed at personal enrichment, but solely at your security! In this respect, we differ significantly from all insurance companies in Austria. Why should I become a member?

Arranging an Islamic funeral in Austria can be quite expensive. This can burden any (Muslim) bereaved person.
An unexpected death can catch your loved ones off guard and put them in a financial crisis. It is important to always be prepared for any situation, as much as possible.

As a burial fund, we believe that we are stronger together! As a member, you are thinking ahead and supporting each other so that all costs are covered in the event of a death.

Say: Indeed, the death that you flee from — indeed, it will meet you. Then you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you about what you used to do.

Funeral Fund

For this reason, we have established a burial association specifically for members of the Islamic faith:

We want our Muslim brothers and sisters to be buried with dignity and according to Islamic rites and customs. However, this should also remain affordable for you and your loved ones, as dealing with a death is already difficult enough. Financial burdens or uncertainty about what to do with the body can become an additional source of stress.

While our Islamic burial fund cannot ease your grief, it can relieve you of the costs and provide you and your loved ones with the assurance of a dignified Islamic burial.

With a small annual membership fee that you contribute to our burial fund, you and your family can already benefit from comprehensive services. For example:

We cover all costs for repatriation abroad (except for embalming fees, which are ONLY required for Egypt).

For funerals in Austria, we cover all costs (except for the fee for a stone foundation and the right to use a grave plot in Austria).

We cover all costs for repatriation of the deceased to a country of your choice.

Our partners take care of the preparations and organization of the funeral service and burial.

We support the bereaved with comprehensive services – before, during, and even after the funeral. Our aim is to relieve you and your loved ones and give you time to mourn.

Our partners take care of all official matters and handle all necessary formalities on your behalf, allowing you to say your final goodbyes to the deceased in peace.
